WhatsApp, one of the leading messaging platforms, is continuously evolving to enhance the user experience. In its latest update, WhatsApp has begun testing the feature of sending high-definition (HD) quality videos on both iOS and Android devices. This groundbreaking improvement allows users to share videos with exceptional clarity and detail. Furthermore, WhatsApp is embracing the Material-You design philosophy to revamp its pop-up alerts, providing users with an aesthetically pleasing and cohesive visual experience.

HD quality video sending on WhatsApp offers several advantages for users. Firstly, it allows for a more immersive viewing experience, enabling users to enjoy videos in greater detail. Secondly, it enhances communication by ensuring that important visual information is not lost in transmission. Lastly, it caters to the growing demand for high-quality media consumption and aligns WhatsApp with the evolving standards of visual content sharing.

With this update, WhatsApp’s pop-up alerts will seamlessly integrate with the user’s device aesthetics, providing a cohesive and visually pleasing experience. The Material-You design philosophy emphasizes simplicity, elegance, and usability, ensuring that users can easily navigate and interact with their messages.

After updating to WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.13.0.76 and WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.14.10, users will be able to send high-quality videos, as spotted by feature tracker WABetaInfo. Currently, videos shared on WhatsApp are compressed to optimise network performance, at the cost of reduced video quality. Users will reportedly be given two video quality options to choose from when attaching a video.

By embracing Material-You design, WhatsApp’s pop-up alerts will become more visually appealing and user-friendly. The design philosophy focuses on creating a consistent user experience across different applications while allowing for individual customization. Users will enjoy a cohesive visual style that adapts to their chosen system-wide theme, making the messaging experience more personalized and enjoyable.

According to the feature tracker, users will see an “HD” button in the preview window when sharing a video, and tapping the button will display a pop-up message asking whether the video should be sent in Standard quality or HD quality. The app will also inform users that HD quality is clearer, but standard quality is faster to send and uses less storage on their smartphone.
