EasyFix Handy Solutions Raises Funds From Axilor Venture Capital

Repair-and-maintenance service pioneer to utilise first round of funding to expand pan-India footprint, bolster tech-enablement and scale up on-field crews

Gurgaon-based EasyFix.in Handy Solutions India Private Limited,a pioneering maintenance and repair service company, has raised its EASYFIXfirst round of institutional funding of an undisclosed value from Axilor Venture Capital.

Established in 2011, EasyFix provides repair and maintenance services for carpentry, electrical work and plumbing at homes and offices. It was born out of a deep-seated need felt by founder Shaifali Agarwal Holani to regularise the market at a time when the space was significantly uncluttered. Architected as aβ€˜One Call Home Repairs Service’, at the core of the EasyFix business model is the belief that one call is all it takes for a customer to get his or her household maintenance problems resolved with professional expertise.

On the Axilor funding, Ms Agarwal Holani says: β€œWe’ve been running the business profitably on our ownfor a fairly long time. We see a huge untapped potential for growth. This also made us realise that raising capital will help us scale up faster and better.Axiloris the right investor to take us through to the next stage of our growth trajectory.”

Axilor is an early-stage fund based in Bangalore, run by Ganapathy Venugopal, and backed bysome of India’s most iconic names in the business like S.D. Shibulal, Kris Gopalakrishnan, Prof. Tarun Khanna and Srinath Batni. It is focussed on E-Commerce, Healthcare, Life Sciences and Clean Technology, and runs an accelerator and entrepreneur-in-residence programme, along with making early stage investments in promising companies.

The industry has recently seen a number of new entrants and significant venture capital activity. The home repairs and maintenance space is a complex business that requires expertise in execution ad deep knowledge of the industry. Most of the new companies in this business are generic marketplaces which provide everything, from guitar tutors to electricians. EasyFix is truly a pioneer in this space, given its specialisation, quality of services, sustainable solutions, customer experience, transparency, and, meticulous and intensive execution. This has led many of the new hyper local marketplace companies to choose EasyFix as their fulfillment partner.

EasyFix plans to utilise the new investment to expand its geographical reach to 15 cities. Further, the company will concentrate on tech-enablement of its on-field professionals and improving services’ delivery TAT.

β€œDemand is not a problem for us. We have a huge pipeline of unmet demandscoming from existing customers and from cities we are yet to reach. Our prime focus is going to be to improve execution and tech capabilities so that we can raise the bar on delighting our customers and partners. We planto invest in growing our field professional network from 2,000 to 5,000 strong, and tech-enabling them to ensure the home repairs experience is as close to the β€˜Uber’ experience as possible,” Ms Agarwal Holani adds.
