Talking about the launch of new variants of ELITE Star, Mr. Shripal Gandhi, founder &CEO of Swipe said, “To cater to the large entry-level population, we have re-designed the popular ELITE Star smartphone keeping in mind their unique needs. Also, keeping in mind the linguistic preference of the target users, we have designed the phone to operate on the Indian regional languages with the innovative Indus OS that eliminates the language barrier among people, and helps us move towards a cashless economy.”

On pricing strategy, Mr. Gandhi said, “While we ensure that our products are rich in features – matching with the latest in global technology trends, we also ensure that they are affordable and easy to use for everyone – even for the people in the remotest corner of the country.”

The ELITE Star received enormous response since its launch in December 2016. The smartphone has witnessed a staggering adoption rate with 70% plus usage in regional languages across the country. The phone’s popularity is largely attributed to its unique feature of connecting Indians in 12 regional languages with its Indus OS. Commenting on the partnership, Ajay Yadav, Head – Mobiles, Flipkart said, “Flipkart’s partnership with Swipe Technologies is creating new milestones with every exclusive launch. After receiving great response to previous phones, we are glad to bring new variants of ELITE Star to our customers. With Flipkart’s wide market reach coupled with seamless consumer financing options, we are certain that this new phone will be well received by our customers.”

Indus OS: Indus OS is addressing one of the developing world’s biggest challenges – to develop technology to cater to the economic, social and regional diversity. We are the first operating system to meet the real needs of the emerging market’s regional language speaking citizens through innovation, simplification and localization.

The support for 12 regional languages is accentuated by two key features: Transliterate and Translate. Swipe left to Transliterate (write using the closest corresponding letters of a different alphabet or language) and Swipe right to Translate

On the occasion, Mr. Rakesh Deshmukh, CEO &Co-Founder of Indus OS said, “The Swipe ELITE Star series of smartphones packs a bunch of superior hardware features and is powered by our ‘IndusOS’ Operating System platform. Our user surveys reveal that consumers are more comfortable with an Operating System that is essentially Indian and helps them express themselves in their own language. The two new Swipe ELITE Star variants also come with the innovative new Indus Dialer with OS integrated balance analytics. Pre-paid users will now be able to conveniently check, analyze, and recharge their balance right on the phone dialer, which cuts down several layers.”
