X users can now engage in audio and video calls.

X has recently introduced a new feature, enabling both audio and video calling on its platform.

While this service is currently available for premium subscribers, all users can receive calls.

To manage incoming calls, users can regulate who can contact them through the Direct Messages Settings.

By default, the app allows calls from accounts a user follows or has in their address book.

However, for users to make a call, the recipient must have engaged in a Direct Message conversation at least once.

The process to initiate calls involves accessing the messages, choosing an existing conversation, and tapping the phone icon to either begin an audio or video call.

During calls, users have various functions like switching to speaker mode in an audio call or toggling between front and back cameras in a video call.

Additionally, they can modify settings within the Messages section to enable or disable the audio and video calling feature.

If enabled, users can select their preferences regarding incoming calls, allowing contact from those in their address book, people they follow, and verified users.

These options provide control over the accessibility of audio and video calls, enhancing user experience on the platform.
