Foxin started operations in June 2006 with a bundle of IT Hardware & Electronic products during the IT boom. The company is committed to developing high-quality products, backed by adequate research and development. The brand caters to a wide range of high-fidelity products for personal and business applications. Recently, team IT-Voice had an opportunity to interact with Rajendra Seksaria, Chief Managing Director, Balaji Solutions Private Limited (BSPL) – Foxin. Here is an excerpt from the informative session.
Prateek: How has the market of wearable technology unfolded in Indian space? And how has Foxin adapted to the trend?
Rajendra Seksaria: The Indian wearables market is growing at 144.3% year on year as per reports. It is one of the fastest-growing spaces in the electronic market as of now. We at Foxin cater to a wide audience at varied price points, being in the electronic space for over 2 decades has given us a bit of expertise in the Indian market.
Prateek: What are some benefits of the Make in India campaign? Has the campaign helped Foxin to mark its significant presence?
Rajendra Seksaria: Other than the tax benefits of making in the country. Quality control is something which we cannot control to a large extent when the products are imported, having our own factory helps us with this. The campaign has given us an edge over the competition, consumers tend to trust the brand more when it is made here and we as Foxin are immensely proud to ‘make in India’.
Prateek: Tell us more about the exciting smartwatch and headphone portfolio from Foxin.
Rajendra Seksaria: We have multiple products in both smartwatches and headphones. In the smartwatch category, we have the Foxfit Amaze and the Foxfit pulse, they come with great features like:
- Monitor Blood Oxygen Level
- Monitor Blood Pressure and Heart Rate
- Breathe training feature
- Long battery life up to 15 days on a single charge
- Phone calls, texts, and social media notifications with vibration alert
- IP68 Water and Dust resistance
- 10 plus active sports mode
- Keep a check on your step count and water intake
- Monitor your sleep and set alarm vibration alert
In the headphones portfolio we divide them into wire and wireless. Each having multiple models in different price brackets from a basic wired in ear headphone with mic to on ear heavy bass models. Off late we have seen the wireless models doing very well with ease of use, longer battery life and good quality sound output.
Prateek: Has the pandemic proved a catalyst for the growing demand for audio and wearable devices in India? What trends will dominate the coming years in the segment?
Rajendra Seksaria: The pandemic has accelerated the sale of electronic products to a great extent. With the majority of people working from home, everybody needs their own devices. I feel we have just scratched the surface of the wearable tech industry in the country. The pandemic has made people more health conscious and most have started physically working out. This has resulted in good sales of headphones and smartwatches in the market.
Prateek: Tell us about the expansion and future plans of the company. Are there any futuristic products lined up for the launch in near future?
Rajendra Seksaria: Technology is an ever-evolving space, we at Foxin are always on the lookout for the best products for our consumers. I see the smartwatch segment growing quite a bit in the coming year and adding a lot more features to it.
