Paytm removed by Google for violating the content rule

Google took an action against Paytm as it removed the Indian e-commerce payment system from google play store. Because Paytm was not able to obey with the gambling policy, it was delisted. Paytm was also accused of making rules over and above the laws and then later on applying them capriciously.

Google in its current statement has completely clarified as to the reason why it was eliminated from google play store was not that Paytm offered vouchers and cashback; it is something other than that.

Now, Paytm is asking for the reason of why it happened. It is said that the Paytm cricket league was launched on 11th September from which any user can collect stickers and scratch cards related to cricket, which will help the users earn UPI cashback. And so later in the next week i.e. 18th September Paytm was removed from Google Play Store.

According to Paytm, it was the first time that they have received such notification regarding the campaign. They have also said that the whole campaign was not contributing to gambling in any way and violation of any rule has not happened.

The owners have said that Google makes a huge chunk of money which is made by the Indian entrepreneurs. It even earns money when 2 rivalries compete with each other.

As per Google, it says that the platform does/can not allow non-regulated gambling applications that bets on sports/games to run in the play store
