Microsoft Introduces Enhanced Copilot+ Features to Snapdragon-Powered PCs

Microsoft has rolled out a major update to its Windows 11 Preview Build on January 17, introducing a range of AI-powered features under the new Copilot+ branding. This update brings a significant upgrade to the Windows Search, allowing users to find files using natural language prompts. Powered by a blend of semantic and traditional indexing, this new search function enables users to locate photos, documents, and settings based on contextual details rather than just relying on file names. For instance, users can now search for phrases like “images of a red car” or “birthday celebration from last year”, making the search process more accurate and intuitive.

Currently, this feature is available on Snapdragon X Plus/Elite-powered PCs. However, Intel and AMD systems will also be receiving the update in the near future. The Copilot+ update supports searches within local files on the PC, but cloud storage searches (such as those in OneDrive) are not yet supported in this release.

Additionally, the update introduces a new feature called “Refine,” which allows users to rewrite or proofread selected text across various apps, similar to writing tools offered by Apple. The update also brings minor improvements to other features like File Explorer, Magnifier, and Task Manager, enhancing the overall experience for users.

This latest update marks an important step in Microsoft’s ongoing efforts to integrate AI capabilities into Windows 11, enhancing productivity and streamlining the user experience across Snapdragon-powered PCs. As the rollout continues, the expanded Copilot+ features are expected to significantly improve how users interact with their devices.
