iPhone Plus the next smartphone from Apple after iPhone 5?

A famous Apple developer writes about why a big screen Apple smartphone makes perfect sense

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Samsung, HTC, LG, Micromax and many other consumer electronics are all doing the same thing these days. The companies are focusing on producing smartphones with large screens as a lot of consumers are increasingly opting for big screen devices these days.

While Samsung has impressed several gadget enthusiasts with its Galaxy Note and the Galaxy Note II, HTC One X too has managed to gain huge popularity. According to a report on NDTV, many have cited 5-inch screen size as a big reason for picking Android-powered phones over the iPhone.

The technology writer Marco Arment is the creator of Instapaper and a prominent voice in the Apple developer community.

He implies that it would be great if iPhone Plus came with a 4.94-inch screen and uses Retina iPad display with iPhone 5 resolutions. Arment also mentions that the screen should have a 16:9 aspect ratio, 640×1136 resolution, and 264 DPI (Dots per Inch).

While speculations on the iPhone Plus have started, rumor mills have been abuzz on a 6.3 inch screen Samsung Galaxy Note III for some time now. According to a report on Korea Times, Samsung might unveil a Galaxy Note III later this year. The report mentions that Samsung is planning to use the Exynos 5 Octa core processor in the upcoming Galaxy Note III.
