India eyes 6% share in IoT industry

“A policy structure around internet of things is in discussion. The idea of IoT policy is that India should have 5-6 per cent share at least of global industry,” Department of Electronics and IT Secretary JS Deepak said while speaking at the CII National IoT Summit.

The strategy in works aims at creating $15 billion domestic industry by 2020.

Under IoT technology various devices will be linked with internet that will automatically distribute data among concerned person.

He also added that government has issued road map for development of machine-to-machine (M2M) communication which will lay foundation for IoT in the country.
