Sony A99 II is a full frame DSLR camera that comes with a 42.4MP (effective resolution) Exmor R CMOS back-illuminated image sensor. It has a hybrid phase detection autofocus system and supports high-speed continuous shooting at 12fps. There’s also 5-axis optical image stabilization and 4K recording functionality.
In terms of detailed specifications, the A99 II includes 79 hybrid cross autofocus points and is powered by Bionz X image processing engine. For both still images and movies, the ISO range is 100-25600. However, the same can be expanded within ISO 50-102400.
Sony A99 II supports JPEG and RAW recording formats with multiple quality modes. Its dynamic range functions include a dynamic range optimizer and auto high dynamic range. Both sRGB standard and Adobe RGB standard colour spaces are supported.
As for the video recording formats, everything from AVCHD to MP4 is supported. Audio recording formats include AVCHD, MP4 and Dolby Digital (AC-3).
The DSLR camera has dual expansion slots, one multi slot for Memory Stick Pro Duo and SD cards and other just for SD cards. All other standard and advanced features such as noise reduction, auto white balance adjustment, multiple focus modes, exposure metering, face detection, smart digital zoom, electronically controlled shutter, image stabilization, flash control and print compatibility are included.
As for the battery, the A99 II comes with a rechargeable battery pack that is claimed to deliver up to 390 shots (viewfinder). Also, about 135 minutes of continuous video recording can be achieved on a single charge.
Sony recently confirmed that it will be rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat update for selected Xperia devices. The company confirmed that the update will be available for Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z4 Tablet, Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, Xperia Z5 Premium, Xperia X, Xperia XA, Xperia XA Ultra and Xperia X Performance devices.
