Samsung’s Galaxy S8 smartphone may carry this Note 7 ‘feature’

56627385Off late, a number of leaks and rumours have shrouded Samsung’s upcoming flagship smartphone Galaxy S8. Now, as per a new report on ETnews website, the device’s front camera is being developed by multiple third-party suppliers. The snapper is also likely to include an iris scanner, a feature that made its debut on the South Korean tech giant’s previous offering – the Galaxy Note 7. The report mentions that these third party manufacturers include firms, such as MCNEX, Power Logics, Partron, and Canisys. It also adds that the iris scanner will be an upgraded version than that onboard the Note 7. One of the features added may include a better integration with the Galaxy S8’s operating system.
Recently, through a number of videos shared on YouTube, Samsung gave a hint of what the smartphone might look like. The videos highlighted the latter’s AMOLED display – which has a higher efficiency, brightness, and saturation level than ordinary screens. Towards the end of the videos, a complete smartphone (assumed to be the Galaxy S8) is displayed.
As per the videos, the front panel is likely to feature minimum bezels at the top and bottom, a fact revealed by leaks and rumours reported earlier. Also conspicuous by its absence is the fingerprint scanner. Apart from these, what we already know is that the smartphone’s firmware is said to be under works already. The Galaxy S8 will come with Bixby v1.0, which is touted to be Samsung’s own digital assistant. A ‘Beast Mode’ is also expected to feature on the flagship device.
