Details on ‘Microsoft Mobile’ leaked, on-table projection and other features tipped

For now, Microsoft doesn’t really have any intentions of launching any smartphones. But if the latest piece of information that has surfaced online is to be believed, it seems that the company hasn’t ruled it out completely either.
According to a leaked video on a Chinese website, Microsoft’s upcoming smartphone may be called ‘Microsoft Mobile’ and not the much-rumoured ‘Surface Mobile’.
One of the features of the alleged smartphone is ‘on-table projection’. As its name suggests, the feature is said to let the device project a Continuum (Windows 10) version of its interface on a table or any flat surface. This means that users won’t need a separate monitor and can work pretty much anywhere on the go.
The ‘Microsoft Mobile’ is also supposed to come with a built-in stand or a base. It will allow the smartphone to stand at 180-degrees for better projection. It could also bring the device in line with the company’s Surface laptops. However, the projection feature might impact the device’s thermal levels and battery life too.
It’s been further suggested that the smartphone could come with Surface Pen stylus support. On the software side, the stylus could activate Microsoft OneNote application, similar to what Samsung’s Galaxy handsets do with the S-Pen.
As for the specifications, ‘Microsoft Mobile’ is expected to be powered by a mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 6XX series processor.
A recent report from popular tech podcaster Paul Thurrott’s website claimed that Microsoft is internally testing a new mobile device.
The report provides no details about the smartphone, but says that it’s being tested with a completely new version of Windows 10 Mobile operating system. The user interface is also claimed to be different. That said, the OS is still in early stages of development so a lot could change before it’s fhe OS is still naive and is developing so the end product could be completely new.
