Atos, a global leader in digital transformation, is ranked at the top of the CAC 40 Governance Index, a new corporate governance index based on the CAC 40, developed by Euronext together with Corporate social responsibility (CSR) rating agency Vigeo Eiris.
The index rates companies listed in the CAC 40 Paris stock index on their corporate governance performance, in particular the extent to which they have integrated social responsibility and sustainability into their decision-making processes.
Atos is ranked in the top 10 CAC 40 companies, based on 45 indicators that address the following four criteria:
Responsible board practice and organisation: effectiveness, balance of power; integration of social responsibility factors;
Audit and internal controls: independence of specialised committees and review of CSR risks;
Shareholders’ rights: fair treatment and protection of minorities
Responsible executive remuneration.
This ranking reflects Atos’ ambitious corporate social responsibility strategy, which since 2008, has been putting confidence in its employees, customers, shareholders and partners, at the heart of its strategy and of its performance measurement in an “integrated reporting” approach.
Thierry Breton, Chairman & CEO of Atos, commented: “We are glad that Atos’ work over several years in the areas of Corporate responsibility and governance has been recognized by the CAC 40 Governance Index. This recognition reflects our continued and long-term commitment to work closely with our stakeholders and to place responsible governance best practice at the heart of our corporate strategy and decision-making processes. By contributing to a more responsible and sustainable society in this way, we aim to create more lasting value for our clients in accompanying them in their digital transformation.”
This position in the top 10 of the “CAC 40 Governance Index” comes in addition to a series of other international awards received by Atos, including the highest recognition in the Global Reporting Initiative – GRI-G4 Comprehensive level – for its Corporate Social Responsibility Integrated Reports and position as leader in the IT services sector in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices World and Europe (‘Gold’ level) in the IT services sector.
