Huawei may launch Google Tango-enabled smartphone

56380431After Lenovo and Asus, Huawei may become the next smartphone manufacturer to launch a Google Tango-enabled smartphone. Till now, the Lenovo Phab 2 Pro and the recently-launched Asus Zenfone AR are the only two Project Tango-enabled smartphones out there. According to a report on Android Authority website, more details regarding this are yet to be available. It claimed that Huawei’s Tango-enabled smartphone may release anytime in the future and may sport the same functionalities as those found in other Tango-enabled handsets. The report further mentioned that Lenovo already has plans for launching a new Moto Mod for its Moto Z line-up of smartphones. This would enable the smartphones to use Google Tango’s AR features. The report claimed that the company may even launch another Tango-enabled smartphone this year. As per the report, developers are shying away from creating apps that support Google Tango. This fact can be substantiated with numbers – only 36 Tango-capable apps exist in the Google Play Store currently. The report further quoted a Google blog post mentioning that more Tango-related apps are in the works. These include an app from leading clothing retailer Gap, likely to be known as DressingRoom. The app will allow Tango-enabled smartphone users to put dresses on mannequins, allowing them to get an idea how the users would look in them.
