Asus introduces Zenfone 3 Zoom and Zenfone AR with 8GB of RAM, Tango and Daydream

535513-zenfone-ar-zs571Asus introduced two new smartphones during CES 2017 – Asus ZenFone AR and ZenFone 3 Zoom. Interestingly, the ZenFone AR is the world’s first Tango enabled and Daydream-ready smartphone, enabling AR and VR experiences while the ZenFone 3 Zoom has a 12X-zoom dual-camera system and claims to be the world’s thinnest and lightest 5.5-inch phone with a 5000mAh battery. The company also claims that the ZenFone AR will be the world’s first smartphone with 8GB of RAM. In terms of specifications, the Asus ZenFone AR features a 5.7-inch WQHD super AMOLED screen with 2560×1440 pixel resolution. It includes Tru2life technology for high contrast and outdoor readability. It uses Corning Gorilla Glass 4 (Super Anti Scratch) for protection. It is powered by a 2.35GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor paired with 6GB/8GB LPDDR4 RAM. It offers 32GB/64GB /128GB/ 256GB internal storage options and is also expandable up to 2TB. It runs on Android 7.0 with the ASUS ZenUI 3.0 on top.

The smartphone comes equipped with a 23MP camera with f/2.0 aperture, 6 P Largan lens m Fix Focus, Auto Focus and 3X optical zoom / 12X total zoom along with an 8MP camera with f/2.0 aperture with Auto Focus and Dual-LED real tone flash. A 3300mAh battery completes the package.

Tango is a set of sensors and computer-vision software by Google that enables AR user experiences on a smartphone, such as AR gaming, AR utilities, and indoor navigation. Daydream is Google’s platform for high quality, mobile virtual reality and supports Daydream VR apps.
On the other hand, the Zenfone 3 Zoom features a 5.5-inch full HD super AMOLED screen with 1920×1080 resolution. It is powered by a 2.0GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor paired with 3GB/4GB RAM. It offers 32GB/64GB/128GB storage variants, which is expandable up to 2 TB and supports apps to SD card. It runs on Android 6.0 with ASUS ZenUI 3.0 on top.
The smartphone comes equipped with a 12MP rear camera with (f/2.0 aperture, 6 P Largan lens) + 12MP (f/2.0 aperture, 5 P Largan lens) with Auto Focus, along with an 8MP front facing camera. The ZenFone 3 Zoom is also the first ASUS smartphone with SuperPixel camera technology that enables it to focus quickly and capture clear photos at night or in low-light environments. A 5000mAh battery completes the package.
