Xiaomi launches Pearl White Mi Mix smartphone

56369684Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi had last year unveiled its near bezel-less smartphone, Mi Mix in China. At the time of the launch, the company unveiled two variants of the smartphone and both came in Black colour. The company has now introduced a new colour variant for the same device – Pearl White. The Pear White version of the Xiaomi Mi Mix was unveiled by the company’s Global VP Hugo Barra at its CES 2017 event. It has also been confirmed that the smartphone will be hitting shelves in China this year itself. Although the price wasn’t mentioned for the new variant, we assume the cost would remain the same as that of the Black colour variant. There is no change in the specifications of the smartphone though. Xiaomi Mi Mix comes in two variants based on RAM and inbuilt storage combinations. While the 4GB RAM+128GB storage variant costs CNY 3,499, the 6GB RAM+ 256GB handset is priced at CNY 3,999. The latter comes with an 18K gold-plated camera and fingerprint sensor ring. The phablet boasts of a 91.3% screen-to-body ratio, similar to the one we recently saw in Sharp Acquos smartphone series. The dual-SIM supporting Xiaomi Mi Mix sports a 6.4-inch 2040×1080 display and runs on Qualcomm master-1Snapdragon 821 processor. It is backed by a 4,400mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 3.0. The optics front is taken care of by a 16MP rear camera with PDAF, f/2.0 aperture, and a 5MP front-facing camera. The cameras can record videos in 4K resolution as well. The fingerprint sensor has been placed at the back panel below the camera and LED flash setup. Xiaomi says its concept smartphone features a piezoelectric ceramic earpiece speaker and an ultrasonic sensor behind the display. The company also launched its latest television Mi TV 4 at the CES 2017. The TV is said to be 30% thinner than an iPhone at its thinnest corner. It comes in three variants based on the screen size – 45inch, 55inch, and 65inch.
