Energy Efficiency Yatra Helps Danfoss Tap Strong Industrial Market In Pune

The Danfoss Energy Efficiency Yatra recently halted at Pune. Aimed at reducing energy consumption in energy intensive industries, this yatra will showcase how a better tomorrow is driven by Danfoss Drives

“Danfoss Energy Efficiency Yatra”, a nationwide-campaign targeted danfoss-logo1at raising awareness about energy efficiency, by Danfoss, India, a Danish company that provides climate and energy solutions, recently arrived in Pune. The campaign was launched in Delhi and has covered numerous cities before it arrived here.

Around 70% of Maharashtra’s industrial revenue is generated from Mumbai, Pune, Nashik and Aurangabad districts, highlighting the significant presence of manufacturers and ancillary industries in Pune. A strong contender for industrial growth, Pune has become a hub for energy intensive sectors like automobile and heavy engineering along with other sectors like real estate.

The Energy Efficiency Yatra was aimed at sensitizing stakeholders about the benefits of energy efficient technologies in heavy engineering, manufacturing automobile and ancillary sectors in Pune and the significance of efficiency in terms of process and operations that ultimately optimize productivity.

“In industrial sectors, electricity is primarily consumed throughout the facility for various purposes. Additionally, open work environment, common in India, exposes these facilities to airborne dust and fluctuating temperatures, reducing performance capacity. Our drives are consciously designed to help industries mitigate these losses and enable savings of 20-25%,” said Mr. Ravichandran Purushothaman, President, Danfoss India.

“We are looking at tapping the heavy engineering and automotive industries in Pune and encourage them to adopt readily available technology like Drives which help reduce their energy consumption significantly,” he added.

“The Energy Efficiency Yatra is a novel concept conceptualised to sensitize key stake holders on the need for energy efficiency interventions as a necessity more than an option. This is a platform to educate industrial consultants and engineering procurement construction consultants on how a better tomorrow is driven by drives”, said Mr. Soren Kvorning, Vice President, Head of Asia, Pacific and India Region, Danfoss Drives, Sales, Marketing and Service.

With the need for energy constantly on the rise, it has been encouraging to note that the government has been actively introducing schemes like PAT (Perform, Achieve and Trade) which helps increase energy savings in large industries and facilities like aluminium, cement, chlor-alkali, fertilizers, iron and steel pulp and paper, textiles and thermal power plants.

The multi-city tour of Danfoss Drives Energy Efficiency Yatra aims to empower industries to adopt brand new innovations in energy efficient technology. The bus will cover 11000 kms through Ludhiana, Amritsar, Patnagar, Satna, Jamshedpur, Durgapur, Kolkata, Rourkela, Angul, Raigarh, Vizag, Guntur, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pondicherry, Cuddalore, Salem, Coimbatore, Bellary, Gulbarga, Kolhapur, Pune, Raigad, Nagpur, Indore, Vapi, Surat, Ahmedabad and Jamnagar in a span of four months.
