As per recent reports, the DoT will discuss issues related to Quality of Services with Telecom Operators

According to reports, the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has organised a meeting with mobile phone providers to examine the issues around service quality. According to reports, the meeting was scheduled fortoday, December 28, as call failures and dropout rates increase.

Call dropouts and failures are now among the top worries following the introduction of 5G services in India. Numerous consumers have also complained that they had difficulties using these services.

According to a report by The Economic Times, the department has been debating the issue. On December 23, it was determined that contacting the operators would be a good idea. The DoT and the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India are both concerned about the deteriorating service quality issues (TRAI).

The Economic Times cited an official as saying, “Telecom Secretary K Rajaraman will preside over the meeting.” It may also be moved to the first week of January if Department of Transportation officials or telecom operator executives are absent because of year-end holidays, the article notes.

Now, only telecom circles, not districts or states, are being reviewed for the Quality of Services (QoS) requirements. Data on telecom websites are sent to the regulator, but not information on cloud servers or other websites. Telecom companies have described the current phase as a transitory phenomenon. They claim that when gadgets synchronise with 5G networks in roughly a month, the situation will improve.

According to reports, the government has urged cell providers to increase their service standards. The DoT responded to TRAI, according to the report, to address the problem and potential solutions. The industry regulator was also working to find a solution for the QoS problem. To create a system for assessing the quality of the end-to-end network, TRAI representatives met with operators.

According to the research, the trade body Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) asserts that telcos are still investing in enhancing network performance for India’s more than a billion mobile subscribers.
