AliExpress To Push Global Expansion Via UCWeb’s Mobile Traffic Network

AliExpress and UCWeb, both within Alibaba Group, today AliExpress_ITVoiceannounced the launch of a joint promotion program for AliExpress app via UCWeb’s mobile traffic platform UC Union, aiming to drive app installs in various regions including US, Russia, Indonesia, Latin America, and other emerging markets. This is the first time AliExpress leverages UCWeb’s mobile traffic network for global expansion, after UCWeb merged into Alibaba Group in June 2014.

The synergy between AliExpress and UCWeb is nothing short of resource integration within the Alibaba Group. A global wholesale marketplace, AliExpress enables consumers from around the world to buy a wide variety of products at competitive prices directly from UC-Web-logo.jpgwholesalers and manufacturers in China. Now, the rapid growth of smartphone penetration means that more and more people are able to access internet within their palms. As an open market platform, AliExpress can provide these potential customers with choices that they have never had before in their own countries.

“AliExpress is a popular marketplace for many. By leveraging on UCWeb’s vast and effective mobile distribution network in different countries, we aim to make our app available for more people around the world, providing convenient access to a wide range of products on mobile and further expanding our presence in these countries,” said Joe Yan, Operation Director of AliExpress.

To maximize the reach of the app, UC Union will also work with local network affiliates and publishers. “In this tie-up with AliExpress, UC Union will act as an advertiser when working with our affiliates, sharing our growth with the partner community while helping AliExpress enhance their global footprint”, said Arthur Li, head of UC Union.
