A Virtual Child Stopping Pedophiles Worldwide

rdfA51851PM1192013A Netherlands based charity group has reportedly created a virtual 10-year-old girl, named Sweetie, who helps them identify paedophiles. According to reports, the members of the Terre des Hommes International Federation used computer modelling in order to capture the movements of a real person and then designed the virtual three dimensional image of the girl. Reports say that the model is realistic enough for people to think that Sweetie is a girl from Philippines, sitting in front of a computer.

In reality though, she is a model being operated from an app in Netherlands. The group can reportedly use commands like β€˜Yes’ or β€˜No’ to which, the model would give a reaction in the form of a simple nod. According to the organisation, they have already been able to use the model to single out around 1,000 pedophiles around the world in just 10 weeks. They also say that they managed to zero in on the suspects without having to hack into their computers. They apparently simply coaxed the suspects into revealing more information about themselves, including names, addresses, Facebook accounts etc.

The initiative is aimed at reducing Webcam Child Sex Tourism worldwide and the group has reportedly also released a report along with a video, which shows their findings. According to the group’s report, India came in at number three after US and UK, for the most chats done with Sweetie. There were apparently 103 users from the country.

According to reports, the information collected by the team has been sent to the Interpol, including the images and videos.
