In a significant move toward enabling an inclusive and multilingual digital India, Bhashini, the national language translation mission under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), inaugurated its state-of-the-art flagship office in Sector 16, Noida. The new office integrates engineering, AI research, language localization, and public-service innovation under one unified space, marking a strategic leap forward for India’s digital public infrastructure.
The inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of key dignitaries including Abhishek Singh (Director General, NIC and Additional Secretary, MeitY), Amitabh Nag (CEO, Digital India Bhashini Division), and S. Krishnan (Secretary, MeitY), each underscoring the critical role Bhashini plays in empowering digital communication in Indian languages.
Empowering Citizens Through Language and AI

Sharing some insights, Amitabh Nag, CEO of Bhashini, emphasized the mission’s fundamental goal: to bridge the digital divide by making digital services truly multilingual. “We already have a platform in 22 languages that supports voice and text translation — this is the foundational step,” he shared. “We are born out of AI — we were the first revolution of AI.”

S. Krishnan, Secretary of Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, hailed the launch as a landmark moment in India’s digital transformation. “What Bhashini is doing is truly historic. It’s ensuring that people from every corner of India can access services in their own language — preserving identity while fostering mobility,” he remarked. “This project is not just about digital access — it’s about nation-building. Bhashini is one of India’s most important digital public goods.”
A Hub for Innovation and Inclusion
The office is structured to blend executive oversight with a strong technological focus, serving as a hub for engineers and specialists dedicated to system development, implementation, and nationwide rollout.
