Xiaomi 13, Xiaomi 13 Pro with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, 50MP Leica cameras, up to 120W charging launched in China

After countless leaks and rumours, the Xiaomi 13 series was finally unveiled in China during the past weekend. The portfolio includes the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro smartphones. These are the 2017 models that preceded the Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro. The most modern Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, a 120Hz OLED display, MIUI 14, support for up to 120W fast charging, Leica-branded cameras, and other features may be found in Xiaomi’s flagship products. At the launch event last weekend, Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro prices, availability, and detailed features were disclosed.

Pricing for the Xiaomi 13 with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage starts at CNY 3999. (about Rs 47,300). The 8GB+256GB, 12GB+256GB, and 12GB+512GB models are available for CNY 4299 (approximately Rs 51,000), CNY 4599 (about Rs 55,000), and CNY 4999 (nearly Rs 59,200), respectively. The phone will have the option of coming in Black, White, Wilderness Green, and Far Mountain Blue.

Xiaomi 13 Pro’s 8GB+128GB option is available for CNY 4999 (about Rs 59,200). Prices for the 8GB+256GB, 12GB+256GB, and 12GB+512GB models are CNY 5399 (about Rs 64,000), CNY 5799 (roughly Rs 68,700), and CNY 6299 (roughly Rs 74,600), respectively.

The 6.36-inch OLED display on the Xiaomi 13 has a resolution of 2400 x 1800, a refresh rate of 120 Hz, a punch-hole cut-out, HDR10+, and a maximum brightness of 1900 nits. The phone has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC with graphics processing from an Adreno GPU, up to 12GB of RAM, and up to 512GB of internal storage. The software is handled by the MIUI 14 custom skin, which is based on Android 13.

Among the connectivity options are 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port for charging and data syncing. A fingerprint sensor is built into the display for security. The phone features a 4500mAh battery and has a 67W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and 10W wireless reverse charging capacity.

On the camera system for the Xiaomi 13 series, Leica and Xiaomi have collaborated. The base model comes with a Leica triple rear camera array that consists of a 12MP ultra-wide sensor, a 10MP telephoto lens, and a 50MP Sony IMX800 main sensor. A 32MP selfie camera is on the front.

The 6.73-inch 2K OLED display (32001440) on the Xiaomi 13 Pro offers a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, and a maximum brightness of 1900 nits. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC with Adreno GPU, up to 12GB RAM, and 512GB of non-expandable storage power the phone. The software is handled by the MIUI 14 custom skin, which is based on Android 13.

A 4,820mAh battery with 120W fast charging and 50W wireless charging capabilities is included in the Xiaomi 13 Pro. 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C connection for charging and data syncing are among the connectivity capabilities. Hi-Res audio, an X-axis linear motor, an in-display fingerprint sensor for security, and a vapour chamber for heat dissipation are all included.

A 50MP primary camera, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 50MP telephoto lens are all included in the Xiaomi 13 Pro’s Leica triple camera system. For selfies and video chats, the front camera has a 32MP sensor.
