WhatsApp is introducing the capability to log in using an email address and is considering incorporating polls on its Channels feature

WhatsApp is reportedly in the process of introducing new features. One such feature will allow users to post polls on their channels. A recent report detailed the method of voting in WhatsApp Channels through this poll feature. Additionally, the platform is contemplating an email-based login alongside the existing phone number authentication.

The beta testing updates for WhatsApp are revealing several forthcoming features. An anticipated functionality involves enabling users to log in using their email addresses. The email verification process will be integrated into the app’s login system, providing an alternative method for users to access the platform. This new login option is an additional security measure and will maintain user privacy by not disclosing the email to others.

This email login method will serve as an alternative option for users. It’s particularly beneficial for individuals traveling abroad without an activated roaming mobile plan. Nevertheless, users will still require a phone number to commence using the services.

To add an email address to a WhatsApp account, users can follow these steps: access the app’s settings, tap on the Account option, and then select the email address. After that, the email address will need to be verified for confirmation.

Furthermore, the app is also testing a feature where users can create and share polls in the Channels section. It’s reported that the process to post a poll might function differently compared to conventional photo sharing on the platform. As of now, users can click photos and directly post them in their channels or share existing images from their device.
