WhatsApp has introduced a new feature that enables users to respond to status updates with avatars

Meta-owned WhatsApp is introducing a new feature that enhances communication with friends and family. This feature allows users to respond to status updates with avatars, offering a more expressive and interactive way to engage with their contacts.

According to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is rolling out this new feature, enabling users to reply to status updates using animated versions of their avatars. This feature is currently in beta and is available for both iOS and Android users.

The report highlights that this feature provides users with an opportunity to express themselves in ways that extend beyond the constraints of traditional emojis. It allows users to convey and share their emotions more effectively. Instead of relying on a limited set of static emojis, users can now use unique avatars to let their personalities shine through.

WhatsApp has also announced its intention to discontinue support for certain Android and iPhone devices in the coming week. Starting from October 24, 2023, WhatsApp will no longer work on specific older smartphone models.

The decision to discontinue support for these older devices is part of WhatsApp’s effort to focus its resources on supporting the latest operating systems and technological advancements. Users whose devices are affected will receive notifications and reminders to upgrade their devices to continue using WhatsApp.

WhatsApp is a popular messaging platform, and this new feature is aimed at making interactions with contacts more engaging and expressive. It adds another dimension to how users can communicate and express themselves through avatars when responding to status updates.
