Vodafone Increases Data Rates For 2G, 3G Users!

Tuesday, June 24, 2014: One of the leading telecom company in India, Vodafone has doubled their tariff plans for 2G and 3G data users in the country. The price hike in the plans is being implemented in circles across the country. The “pay as you go” (PAYG) plan used to cost 2 paise/10KB earlier, and has now been raised to 4 paise/10KB after the price change.
“We have revised our PAYG pre-paid and post-paid tarrif plans, but still our plans are most attractive and lowest in the industry. The change is being implemented one by one in circles across the country,” said a company spokesperson.

Vodafone was working on educating current users about importance of internet. This was part of their strategy to democratise data. The company had announced about these activities in press conference in November 2013. Vodafone has 52 million data customers in India, out of which 7 million are 3G users. Vodafone has reportedly made 125 per cent year-to-year increase in data traffic in 2014.
