Vivo V5S smartphone with 20MP selfie camera gets a price cut in India

Vivo V5S, the selfie-focussed smartphone that launched in India back in April this year, has got yet another price cut and is now available at Rs 15,990. The smartphone’s launch price was Rs 18,990, which later dropped to Rs 17,990.
Although Vivo has not made the announcement by itself, a noted online retailer from Mumbai, Mahesh telecom has posted this piece of information. With the best buy price of Rs 15,990, the smartphone comes in direct competition with the likes of Moto G5S Plus and other Xiaomi smartphones. The Vivo V5S is already up for grabs from Flipkart at around Rs 15,900.
It is worth adding that Xiaomi too slashed the price of its first-ever Android One smartphone, the Mi A1 by Rs 1,000, making its cost price Rs 13,999.
Vivo V5S shares the same features as the Vivo V5, except for the inbuilt storage. The smartphone features a 5.5-inch HD display of 720×1280 pixel resolution that comes with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass. It is powered by a 1.5GHz octa-core MediaTek chipset with 4GB of RAM. But instead of offering 32GB ROM like its predecessor, Vivo V5s offers 64GB of internal storage and can hold microSD cards of up to 256GB
The Android-based smartphone has a 3,000mAh battery. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/GLONASS, USB OTG and microUSB. There’s also a Hi-Fi audio system with AK4376 audio chip.
Speaking about cameras, Vivo V5s has a 13MP primary camera (with LED flash) along with a 20MP front-facing snapper with ‘Moonlight Glow’.
The Vivo V5 can be purchased in around Rs 14,500 from some online retailers.
Vivo also gave a price cut to its Y53 smartphone few days ago in India. It is now priced at Rs 8,990. As one can guess from its price, the smartphone is less powerful as compared to the Vivo V5S. It has a 5-inch qHD display, 8MP rear camera, 5MP front facing snapper, quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC and 2GB RAM. The device has 16GB internal storage onboard and also offers a microSD card support of up to 256GB. The Y53 smartphone is backed by a 2500mAh.
