Nokia Lumia 1020. Nokia establishes a new benchmark in smartphone imaging with the arrival of the Nokia Lumia 1020. Boasting a second generation 41 megapixel sensor and optical image stabilization (OIS), Nokia Lumia 1020 reinvents zoom, enabling people to discover more detail than their eyes can see. With Nokia’s innovative PureView technology, the device is able to produce some of the sharpest images delivered by any digital camera.

The launch was also marked by an exhibition of images captured with the Nokia Lumia 1020 by three creative icons, well-known for their love of photography viz., award winning film director Imtiaz Ali, veteran fashion designer and couturier J.J. Valaya and celeb chef and film maker Vikas Khanna. They showcased their own experiences and images, which demonstrate that the Nokia Lumia 1020 is the perfect camera to help people capture the moment in unrivalled detail, and with ease. The images will be showcased on September 27 at the Kiran Nadir Museum of Art in Delhi.

Since it’s a Lumia, the Nokia Lumia 1020 also comes with the world’s only fully integrated and true offline maps experience from the HERE location suite and access to a world of music available to stream or download with Nokia Music. Popular applications Path and Flipboard will also soon be available on Windows Phone. To help people see what’s around them and discover new places to take photos, the latest developments in LiveSight will be available in HERE Maps soon. Consumers in India will also get an App Voucher worth INR 1000. Vodafone users of Lumia 1020 will be offered 2GB of 3G data usage per month for 2 months, at no extra cost.

Adding further professional capabilities and additional battery life, Nokia also announced the new Nokia Camera Grip. This is an accessory that complements device features usually reserved for stand-alone cameras, like the Nokia Lumia 1020’s built-in xenon flash and mechanical shutter.

The Nokia Lumia 1020 will be available in stores across India starting October 11, 2013. Nokia will offer, in association with New India Assurance, a year-long complimentary insurance cover at all leading stores. All Nokia Lumia 1020 owners and prospective consumers will also have dedicated support from trained Nokia Lumia 1020 experts on the Nokia Careline.

Both the Nokia Lumia 1020 and the Nokia Camera Grip will be available in yellow, white and black.
