The charging bypass functionality on Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S23will be coming to more phones

To boost the Galaxy S23 series’ gaming performance, Samsung added a number of features. Older Galaxy devices will soon get some of those functions. The Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra were the first smartphones to sport the Pause USB Power Delivery feature; more recently, some older devices have begun to support it.

After updating the Game Booster app to the most recent version, the Pause USB Power Delivery feature is now available for the Galaxy S22 series. When this option is turned on during gaming, battery charging is paused and power from the attached charger instead goes straight to the processor.

This prevents the battery from warming up, which enhances the phone’s ability to play games. This function only functions with games, and it can be accessed through the Game Booster section of the Game Launcher.

The Galaxy A73 5G, Galaxy Z Fold 2, Galaxy Z Fold 3, and Galaxy Z Fold 4 all have this new feature available in various regions. It’s interesting to note that some users report the capability only became available on their phones after using the Samsung 45W USB PD charger. The Game Booster app must be updated to version 5.0.03.0 in order to use this function; you may do so through the Galaxy Store.

Users attempted to use the feature on the Galaxy S21 Ultra but were unsuccessful despite using a 45W charger. Perhaps only mid-range and high-end phones released in 2022 and after will support the feature at the moment. This feature has not yet been described or advertised by Samsung.
