Vivo has officially confirmed that its next budget-focused smartphone, the Vivo T5 Lite 5G, will debut in India on July 16 at 12:00 PM IST. Acting as the direct successor to last year’s T4 Lite 5G, the upcoming device will be sold online via dedicated landing pages on Flipkart and Vivo’s official website.
Big Battery Upgrades and Core Hardware
The standout improvement for the Vivo T5 Lite 5G is its massive 6,500mAh battery pack. This marks a substantial capacity jump over the 6,000mAh reservoir found in the older T4 Lite. To complement the bigger battery, Vivo is bundling 44W FlashCharge fast charging, a welcome acceleration from the sluggish 15W charging speeds of its predecessor.
Under the hood, the 5G handset is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset. Early teasers indicate that the phone will feature a flat rear design showcasing a dual camera array, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor integrated into the power button, and a physical volume rocker along the edge of the frame. It will be available in light blue and black color choices.
Upgraded Display, Durability, and AI Software
Up front, the Vivo T5 Lite 5G features a highly responsive display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness rating of 1,200 nits under High Brightness Mode, making it easier to read outdoors under harsh, direct sunlight.
The physical chassis steps up its ruggedness with military-grade structural durability and an upgraded IP65 rating to effectively block out fine dust particles and sudden water splashes. On the software front, the smartphone ships with the new OriginOS 6 skin, which is built on top of the Android platform. This operating system includes a suite of native AI productivity utilities, including AI Creation, automated AI Captions, AI Transcript Assist for audio recordings, AI Documents handling, and a dedicated Private Space partition for sensitive content.
