Realme’s Madhav Sheth may join rival Chinese brand Honor in India

According to a report, Madhav Sheth, the current VP for Business and Corporate Strategy (Global) at Realme, is rumored to be leaving the brand to join its competitor, Honor. The report suggests that Sheth will soon join Honor India, and it is expected that some senior leadership from Realme will also accompany him in this move. It is speculated that Sheth will take on the role of CEO at Honor India.

The report further mentions that director-level executives from Realme’s online and offline verticals have also resigned and are likely to join Sheth at Honor India. However, neither Realme nor Honor has made an official statement regarding this development.

The Indian market holds great significance for Realme, and in March, Sheth was given the responsibility to oversee the Indian market as the VP for Business and Corporate Strategy (Global). Sheth has previously held various positions within the company, including CEO of Realme India and VP of Realme.

Notably, Sheth was absent from Realme’s recent flagship launch event where the Realme 11 Pro 5G series was introduced. This series includes the Realme 11 Pro 5G and the 11 Pro+ 5G models, and it is being endorsed by Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan as the brand ambassador.

As for Honor, the Chinese conglomerate Huawei sold its Honor smartphone business assets in 2020. However, Honor has affirmed its commitment to the Indian market and expanded beyond smartphones to include laptops and wearables in its product portfolio. Honor has maintained its presence in India with service centers and has targeted the youth audience by offering affordable phones.

Honor’s product lineup in India includes the Honor MagicBook 15 laptop and the Honor Watch GS 3. The laptop features impressive specifications, including a hidden pop-up webcam and a fast charger, while the smartwatch offers fitness tracking capabilities.
