RCTA initiates steps to take Distributors in Confidence

RCTAIn view of the arrest of Cyberspace Owner, RCTA had organized a bandh and a rally showing full protest against Microsoft activity. Following this, a meeting was held between key RCTA members and it was decided unanimously that all Microsoft OEM, MOLP, Paper License, Hardware products purchases are banned till further Notice and all T2 partners, Sub Distributors & RDs have been advised to return the materialΒ toΒ T1 Partner.

A mail has been circulated amongst the vendors and distributors by RCTA explaining the reasons behind the ban. A snapshot of the mail is shown below.

  1. We are fully in support of the legal software and do not want to advocate for piracy at all. Our Issue is to protest against the ways & Tactics which Microsoft is adopting by framing false cases against partners and compelling them to Sell the Microsoft products at Prices almost 5 Times higher than what they are supplying to vendors like Dell, Lenova, Acer, HP Etc. Due to lack of Awareness and Fear in the customer about the legal software, they very often force the Partner to load the pirated software without paying any extra charges for it. Microsoft should take the legal action against the end customers rather than Partners. Education to the End Customer and rationalization of end customer prices is the only long term solution.
  2. Today we had a meeting with quite a few prominent NDs and & Vendors in the Rajasthan. We would like to once again reiterate this fact that we have banned all Purchases of Microsoft products, Laptops, Desktops & Processors from all Vendors, National Distributors, RDs & Sub Distys who are not having their HO at Rajasthan and who are procuring material From Out Of Rajasthan acting as a First Point of Sales. This BAN has been imposed on all T1 Partners till the further Notice.
  3. The Idea of This BAN is to convey all Vendors and Disty Friends to jointly take a call to Compel Microsoft to Resolve this matter amicably in the interest of the whole IT Community. We would like all of you to speak to your respective higher management and Product managers to share this issue with Microsoft and to advise them to discuss the matter with Association.
