Production of the Apple iPhone 15 series has allegedly been reduced due to challenges in the supply chain

Apple is preparing for the upcoming release of its new generation of smartphones known as the Apple iPhone 15 series, featuring models such as the iPhone 15, 15 Plus, 15 Pro, and 15 Ultra or 15 Pro Max.

Despite being in the midst of mass production for these upcoming phones, a recent report suggests that Apple has decided to reduce its production due to supply chain challenges.
According to analyst Jeff Pu from Haitong International Securities, the initial production estimate for the iPhone 15 series has been revised down from 83 million units to 77 million units.

Similarly, analysts at Mizuho Bank in Japan have adjusted their expectations from 84 million units to 73 million units for the iPhone 15 series. They have also revised the projected total iPhone production for 2023 from 227 million units to 217 million units.

If these reports are accurate, Apple is likely to launch the iPhone 15 series in September, with availability starting from September 22nd for most models, except for the iPhone 15 Pro Max (Ultra).

The launch of the iPhone 15 Pro Max might be delayed until October due to potential supply constraints from Sony, which could impact the availability of camera sensors needed for this model. Notably, the iPhone 15 Pro Max is anticipated to be the first iPhone to feature a periscope lens.
