Oppo F5 Youth smartphone with 16MP front camera launched in India at Rs 16,990

Chinese smartphone maker Oppo has launched its latest selfie smartphone Oppo F5 Youth in India. Launched last month in China, the smartphone is targeted towards the youth and was launched at an event in Mumbai by Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha.
Price and availability
The company has priced the Oppo F5 Youth at Rs 16,990. The smartphone will come in Black and Gold colour option and will start selling in India starting December 8. Going by the price the device will face tough competition from Vivo V7 which comes with a 24MP front camera and is priced at Rs 18,990.
Specifications
One of the main highlight of Oppo F5 Youth is its front camera. The smartphone comes with a 16MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture. Like the earlier launched Oppo F5 the smartphone comes with AI beauty recognition technology. Using the technology, the smartphone can scan up to 200 facial recognition spots that help in beautifying the selfie. Along with this, the users can also use the front camera to unlock the device.
The Oppo F5 Youth sports a 6-inch FHD+ full screen display with 1080×210 pixel resolution. The display is topped with a coating of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top. Powering the smartphone is a 2.5GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P23 processor paired with 3GB of RAM. The device offers 32GB internal storage which can be expanded up to 256GB by adding a microSD card.
The smartphone comes with a metal unibody and runs Android 7.1 Nougat operating system topped with the ColorOS of the company. The Dual SIM smartphone boasts of a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and f/2.2 aperture. The smartphone comes equipped with a rear mounted fingerprint sensor and houses a 3,200 mAh battery. Weighing 152 grams, the device offers 4G, VoLTE, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS as connectivity options.
