Apple reveals ‘Best of 2017’ apps and games

While Google recently revealed its ‘top apps of 2017’ section, Apple too has now announced its ‘Best of 2017’ apps and games. The Cupertino-based tech firm has said that its app of the year is ‘Enlight Videoleap’. The app lets you create a video using different elements such as texts, emojis, colorfy and more. Also mentioned is that Splitter Critters is the year’s best gaming app.
It is worth adding that the sections may show you a different app and game of the year based on the country or region. Also mentioned is that the most downloaded apps of 2017 are Bitmoji, Snapchat, YouTube, Messenger, Instagram and Facebook. The most downloaded game was Super Mario Run. It is followed by 8 Ball Pool, Snake VS Block, Ballz, Word Cookies and Subway Surfers.
This year, Apple has also introduced a new year-end section for the ‘trends of the year’. This includes different categories such as casual games, general apps, augmented reality and more.
Apple says that the top apps of the year 2017 were WhatsApp, YouTube, Facebook, PayTm, Messenger, SHAREit, Instagram, Google Maps, Uber, Hotstar, Amazon, Ola cabs, Gmail, Wynk, MyJio, My Airtel, Google Chrome, Flipkart, Snapchat and imo video calls and chat. Like we said above, this list is also different for different countries.
Apple adds that in the US, Drake leads the Album of the year on Apple Music with ‘More Life’. Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shape of you’ got the top song honors.
The company recently released iOS 11.2 to all the users around the globe. The highlight of the OS version is the Apple Pay Cash feature, a peer-to-peer payment system introduced by the firm earlier this month. To use this, users would have to sign in to their iCloud account on any device that will be used to send or receive money. In addition, users would also need to link their eligible credit and debit card to the wallet.
