Oneplus to Launch The New Oneplus TV and Oneplus Z Next Month

Oneplus has become a household name in India; it has penetrated the Indian market more quickly than any other brand. While doing the same, it has established itself as a premium brand and a brand that people trust. It was able to do so because of its philosophy of providing high specs at cheaper rates in the previous generation of its smartphones. But now their smartphones have shifted from the flagship killer tag to being flagship themselves. Hence oneplus is keen to regain its mid-range by releasing the Oneplus Z next month.

Oneplus is also eager to enter the Indian TV market, last year they released their first two variants of the Oneplus TV launched at RS 69,900 sporting a 55’ display. The OnePlus TV Q1 55’ is priced at RS 69,900 while the OnePlus TV Q1 Pro 55’ was set at Rs 99,900. These premium TV made a buzz around the market but was competing at a very high price to penetrate the Indian market. Hence Oneplus decided to enter the mid-range market and attack companies like Xiaomi Mi TV and Realme TV. They teased their product on social media, saying that the range will start from RS 1X,999. It is expected that Oneplus will release two smart TV variants and will start under RS 20,000. CEO of Oneplus Pete Lau said, “Premium smart TV experience more accessible to our Indian community.”

They aim to bring back the more pocket-friendly options for the Indian consumer. OnePlus isn’t revealing any technical specifications for TV series though it expected to have high specs with Amoled displays and basic smart TV functionality. Pete Lau was quoted, saying, “In 2020, we aim to enhance the OnePlus connected ecosystem experience further and are looking forward to offering a wider range of smart TVs that embody our burden less technology experience. To provide a truly seamless smart TV experience for our community at an accessible price range. We believe the new range of OnePlus TVs will re-define the premium experience in their respective price segments by providing unparalleled quality, coupled with best-in-class displays and premium design.”

It is expected that they will launch the series on July 2 and hold a separate event on July 10 to launch the Oneplus Z. Oneplus Z is reported to sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G with 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage and a 90Hz refresh rate display. It will also have a triple rear camera set-up and 30W fast charging. It is expected to be priced between RS24,000-28000. Oneplus aims t provide an affordable 5G smartphone and, hence, came up with an alternative device after the price increase in the Oneplus 8 series. It will be intriguing to see what Oneplus has kept in store for the coming days post Covid-19.

After the end of this extensive lockdown, many companies have come forward to release their products and show off their new technology. Many technology companies have launched new products or are expecting to launch their products in the coming months.
