OnePlus One Users in India Will Get Lollipop-based CM12S OTA Update

OnePlus-One-LollipopToday Latest news for Indian OnePlus One fans. The company has confirmed that OnePlus One owners in India will receive the Android Lollipop-based CM12S software update.

Responding to a user query on Twitter, Carl Pei, director, OnePlus global confirmed that Indian users will receive the new build of CyanogenMod as an over-the-air update.

The news comes as a sigh of relief for OnePlus One users in India as the company is at loggerheads with Micromax’s YU which has an exclusive agreement with Cyanogen under which all software updates would be available only to users of the YU Yureka, another smartphone that runs Cyanogen OS. The two companies are involved in a court battle over the rights to use the software. Micromax had sought a ban on the sale of the OnePlus One but the Delhi High Court had allowed OnePlus to continue to sell its smartphone in India.
