OnePlus Nord N10 5G & Nord N100 to Get 1 Big Update

OnePlus Nord N10 5G and OnePlus Nord N100 will just get 1 major Android update, as per a report. The newest budget-friendly smartphones from the company are set to go on sale in Europe and the United States. Recently, it has allegedly approved that Nord N10 5G and Nord N100 will get only 1 major Android update, along with 2yrs of security updates. Nord N10 5G and Nord N100 were rolled-out with Android 10 out-of-the-box, suggesting that the Android 11 update will be the last one.

A spokesperson from the company has reportedly confirmed to Android Central that there will be just 1 big Android update for Nord N10 5G and Nord N100. The spokesperson has also briefed that the company will continue to take in community feedback to augment the software experience on all OnePlus smartphones.

The spokesperson said that the Nord N10 5G and N100 will get 1 major Android update and a total of 2yrs of security updates. The plan for these 2 devices aligns with industry standards for smartphones in more cheap price ranges. As always, they will continue to listen to feedback from their users and they will look for ways to enhance the software experience for every OnePlus device.

Normally, Android smartphones support 2yrs of Android updates and 3yrs security patches. Though, it looks like the Chinese company has other plans with Nord N10 5G and Nord N100. The 2 smartphones were rolled-out after the launch of the OnePlus 8T that arrives with Android 11 out-of-the-box. If OnePlus introduced the 2 budget smartphones with Android 11 as well and then assured one Android update, it would’ve perhaps been more adequate to people planning to buy these smartphones.

It makes sense for a firm to keep its attention more on its flagship smartphones and provide constant support to them. To take a step in the conflicting direction for its budget smartphones are quite astonishing, especially for a company like OnePlus that indorsed the idea of bringing a flagship experience to inexpensive smartphones.
