Nokia C12 entry-level smartphone hits Indian markets at Rs 5,999

Nokia has announced the launch of a new entry-level smartphone, the Nokia C12, in India. The phone is equipped with a Unisoc chipset and Android Go Edition, and it is expected to support extended RAM. It is priced at Rs 5,999 for the base model with 2GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The Nokia C12 will be exclusively available for purchase through Amazon India starting from March 17, in three different colours, namely Dark Cyan, Charcoal, and Light Mint.

Under the hood, the Nokia C12 is powered by the Unisoc 9863A1 chipset coupled with 2GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which can be expanded using a microSD card. The phone also supports extended RAM, which allows up to 2GB of unused storage to be used as virtual RAM. The device is backed by a 3,000mAh battery that supports 5W charging.

The Nokia C12 features a 6.3-inch HD+ LCD screen with a 20:9 aspect ratio and a waterdrop notch that houses a 5MP front-facing camera. The back of the phone houses a single 8MP camera along with an LED flash. The phone runs on stock Android 12 (Go Edition) out of the box, and Nokia promises to provide two years of quarterly security updates for the device.

In terms of connectivity, the Nokia C12 supports 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, a 3.5mm audio jack, a micro-USB port, and more. The device has an IP52 rating for protection against minor splashes. It measures 8.75mm in thickness and weighs 177 grams.

The Nokia C12 is positioned as an ultra-affordable smartphone and is targeted at budget-conscious consumers. With its Unisoc chipset and Android Go Edition, the phone is expected to deliver a smooth and lag-free user experience. The extended RAM support is also a welcome addition, as it will help users with multitasking and running apps that require more memory.

Overall, the Nokia C12 looks like a decent entry-level smartphone with a solid set of features for its price point. With its availability on Amazon India, it should be easily accessible for interested buyers.
