Nokia 9 to launch in Q3 2017, to be priced around Rs 44,999

HMD Global, the company that holds exclusive licence to manufacture Nokia -branded smartphones, is reportedly planning on a new flagship smartphone. And now, pricing of the rumoured handset – Nokia 9, has surfaced online.
According to a report by Nokia Power User website, the flagship smartphone is expected to have a price tag of $699 (roughly Rs 44,999).
Even though the company has not made any official announcement regarding the upcoming smartphone, reports have suggested that the Nokia 9 will be launched in June or July this year. It’s expected to go on sale in Q3 2017.
In terms of specifications, the Nokia 9 is likely to be powered by Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 835 CPU paired with 6GB of RAM. It’ll run Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box.
The smartphone may have a 5.5-inch QuadHD resolution display, as well as a 22MP dual camera setup at the back. A 12MP front-facing shooter is also expected.
Nokia 9 is likely to arrive in two internal storage configurations – 64GB and 128GB. It will also have IP68 rating for water resistance. The smartphone will incorporate Nokia’s OZO Audio technology for 3D sound and will be backed by a 3,500mAh battery.
Last month, a report by Neowin website claimed that HMD Global will launch its ‘reimagined’ Nokia 3310 in Malaysia by the end of April. The other three Android-based smartphones – Nokia 3 , 5 and 6, will be launched in May.
For those unaware, the ‘new’ Nokia 3310 runs Series 30+ and features a 2.4-inch QVGA display. It has a 2MP primary camera and supports microSD cards. The feature phone is claimed to offer 22 hours of talk time and one-month of standby time. The phone also has an upgraded version of the classic ‘Snake’ game pre-installed.
