Nokia 9 may sport dual front-facing cameras, details revealed

Rumours and leaks for the Nokia 9 smartphone have been making rounds on the web for a while now. The device was even listed on US FCC (Federal Communications Commission) recently revealing some of the features. While the FCC listing stated the handset to feature a single front-facing camera of 5MP, GSM Arena has spotted that there are not one but two 5MP front-facing sensors.
The FCC listing showed the rumoured Nokia 9 sporting a Chicony CKACE16 module, which as found by GSM Arena has a dual camera system. This is confirmed on the Chicony site that mentions both the 5MP sensors will sport autofocus system. It is also said to feature full HD (1080×1920 pixels) resolution video recording. While the first sensor comes with f/2.4 lens, the second one has f/2.0 aperture.
Although nothing else is known about the smartphone’s front-facing camera, it definitely corroborates with the recently leaked render of the smartphone that showcased dual front-facing camera.
According to the recent FCC listing, Nokia 9 was found carrying a model number TA-1005 and ‘Avatar’ as the codename. The listing showed the device to sport a 5.5-inch OLED display from LG and a dual-rear camera setup of 12MP+13MP. The handset is backed by a 3250mAh battery with fast charging support and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. Running on Android 8.0 Oreo, it has 128GB external storage support, according to US FCC.
Initial set of rumours indicate the rumoured Nokia 9 to launch on January 19, along with the 2018 version of Nokia 6. According to a report by NokiaPowerUser, the Nokia 6 (2018) is expected sport a 5.5-inch screen with 18:9 resolution display. Apart from this it will also feature “dual-lens camera or may be just the Dual-Sight aka Bothie feature.” As for the processor, the device is said to be powered by Snapdragon 630 processor paired with 4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage.
