Nokia 5 to go on sale starting August 15 at a reduced price tag

HMD Global, the company that manufactures Nokia smartphones, in June launched the Nokia 6, Nokia 5 and the Nokia 3 in India. Out of these three, the Nokia 5 is the handset that will be going on offline sales starting August 15 (tomorrow). Although the handset was launched at Rs 12,899, t will be go on sale at a reduced price of Rs 12,499. HMD confirms that the Rs 400 price cut is permanent and not a part of any Independence Day sales offer.
The smartphone will be available in Matte Black, Silver, Tempered Blue and Copper colour variants across leading retail stores in the country. Furthermore, as a part of the launch offer, Nokia 5 buyers who are using Vodafone will get 5GB internet data per month at Rs 149 per month for three months. They will also get Rs. 2500 off on Makemytrip.com.
Nokia 5 offers pure Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS experience and come with Google Assistant built-in. HMD Global has already confirmed the handsets will get Android O later this year or next year.
The Nokia 5 has a 5.2-inch IPS LCD display with 720×1280 pixels resolution. The display is coated with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass. It sports a 6000-series Aluminium built as well.
The smartphone has 2GB RAM and 16GB inbuilt storage, which can be expanded via microSD card (up to 128GB). Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 powers the smartphone. The Android 7.1 Nougat-based handset has a 13MP rear camera with PDAF and f/2 aperture along with an 8MP front-facing camera with 84-degree wide angle lens and f/2.0 aperture. It is backed by the same 3,000mAh battery as well
