According to sources, the first device to be launched is MTV Volt, a 3G dual SIM six inch phablet powered by a dual core 1GHz processor. The device has an Android 4.1 operating system, 8MP rear camera and 1.3 MP front camera. It will be available at a price of Rs 12,999.

Sandeep Dahiya, Viacom18 SVP and Business Head discussed that they currently had a two year dealing period with Swipe and would be launching around 8-12 devices. These devices would range from Rs 6,000 to Rs 20,000 and vary from phones, phablets and tablets.

MTV has great hopes with its new device Volt, which is designed for the generation which believes in constantly communicating, entertaining and socializing. The price has also been made suitable to their pockets.

Shripal Gandhi, Swipe Telecom CEO said that they were aiming to generate sales of around Rs 20-25 crore from the MTV portfolio.

Top gross profit is expected from the top 25 cities of the country.

The same partnership was seen with Micromax three years ago when MTV launched two devices and sold about 2.3 units of it.

As a result, Viacom18 is now getting a portion of the selling price as the current price in licensing deal goes to the brand owner.
