IT Voice News: Microsoft has changed a lot after Satya Nadella took the company’s charge last year. One of the biggest announcements, which emerged soon after was Microsoft Office apps will be made cross-platform, to be accessed on Android and iOS phones too. Now the latest development says Android and iOS users can download MS Office apps for free, without subscribing to Office 365. And this is unquestionably one of the biggest surprises on the company’s part.

Microsoft Office Apps In an official statement, Microsoft has announced that in this productivity of Office will increase and iPhone, Android as well as iPad users will be able to create and edit Office content on their devices without any subscription. Microsoft says it’s all about business that they have decided this move. In a discussion with The Verge, the company told it’s just an extension of an existing strategy.

Microsoft Office users who save documents on OneDrive for Business or Dropbox for business will not be covered by this new update, and they still need to pay for their subscription. That means Microsoft will keep on generating revenue from the business versions of its apps and cloud services. Just a few days ago Microsoft entered a deal with Dropbox to allow Office users to save and share files in their Dropbox account. The announcement by Microsoft said that the new feature will be rolled out in next few weeks.

For now, you can download the free Microsoft Office app from Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
