McLeod Russel Keeps Insights Brewing With Qlik

World’s largest private sector tea producer deploys QlikView across more than 54 tea estates in India

Qlik®, a leader in visual analytics, today announced that qlikMcLeod Russel India Ltd. (MRIL), the world’s largest tea producer, is leveraging QlikView® to optimize performance and increase productivity across its tea estates.

With more than 90,000 employees across more than 65 tea estates in India, Vietnam, Uganda, and Rwanda, Mcleod Russel is taking the next step in differentiating their organization by implementing the QlikView. By utilizing QlikView, Mcleod Russel executives will get Qlik’s underlying performance, market-leading visualization, analysis, reporting and dashboarding, enabling the team to decipher every aspect of the daily production process. Previously, information was entered into cumbersome spreadsheets in order to gain a holistic view of the company’s performance. Over time, this process proved to be inefficient and time consuming, and did not allow executives to gather real-time visual insights needed to make quick, fact-based decisions. To better meet these needs, McLeod Russel turned to QlikView to improve the accuracy of its sourcing and procurement processes.

Working with Qlik partner Greencube Global, McLeod Russel quickly deployed QlikView applications for finance, sales and distribution, field and factory production, as well as inventory and purchasing across its 54 estates in India. QlikView enables data to be extracted from more than 100 million sources and uploaded for senior managers to receive insights needed to make strategic changes and achieve budget goals.

With QlikView, analysts now have a comprehensive and relevant visual analytics platform at their fingertips and are able to view the day’s events and data in an visual, engaging and intuitive dashboard. As a result, forecasting, planning and regulatory compliance has been improved, resource and supplier performance is more effectively managed, and manual reporting has been significantly reduced. Decision-makers track daily activity such as the total daily plantation yield, power and fuel consumption, productivity and performance across the different estates, and even generate the yield to measure profitability ratio by location.
