Mark Zuckerberg reports that Threads has nearly 100 million monthly users

Meta’s Threads, a contender to Elon Musk’s X (formerly Twitter), has amassed nearly 100 million monthly users since its launch in July, according to Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

Zuckerberg expressed satisfaction with Threads’ progress, setting his sights on expanding the community with the aim of growing it to a billion users in the next few years.

Threads saw a surge of 100 million sign-ups in its first week, although users later voiced concerns about limited functionality and an excess of brand posts in their feeds.

Nevertheless, Meta has been consistently introducing new features to enhance the platform.

Meta’s CFO, Susan Li, expressed optimism about Threads’ potential and the company’s plans to capitalize on its product momentum in the coming year.

Instagram head Adam Mosseri conveyed his appreciation to the Threads community and hinted at forthcoming updates.

In recent months, Threads has seen several new features, including a web debut following its initial release on smartphones.

Meta intends to integrate Threads with other decentralized social apps using ActivityPub, which powers Mastodon.
