“Follow lyrics” and 5 additional features introduced in YouTube Music

Google has introduced a series of new features in its YouTube Music platform to enhance the user experience for its over 2 billion monthly users. One of the key additions is “timed lyrics,” which enables users to follow song lyrics on-screen while listening to music. By tapping on a specific lyric, users can navigate to that part of the song, enhancing their listening experience.

To make it easier for users to discover and access their favorite songs and artists, Google is adding a new feature to the Home tab. This feature aims to save users time and provide more convenience in exploring music.

Another feature, the “Samples tab,” offers short video segments that help users discover new music. Users can swipe vertically to explore different songs and add the ones they like to their collection, making music discovery more engaging and straightforward.

YouTube Music also allows users to customize their listening experience. Users can create their own radio station by selecting their favorite artists and adjusting the mood and style of the music.

For English language users in the US, Google is introducing an experimental feature that leverages generative AI to create custom playlist art. Users can choose from various visual themes to express the uniqueness of their personal playlists. This feature will initially be available for US users and will expand to other regions and languages in the future.

Lastly, YouTube Music now enables users to interact with other music enthusiasts through comments, fostering engagement and discussions within the app. This feature helps users stay connected with the broader music community.

These updates aim to provide a more personalized and enjoyable music experience for YouTube Music users, making it a go-to platform for music enthusiasts.
