MapR Technologies has announced the opening of its new R&D Centre in Hyderabad signalling the company’s larger plans for the Indian market and an increased presence in the country.
The new R&D Centre comes as a consequence of proven demand for MapR products and solutions in India, where companies are investing in Hadoop technology to increase engagement and customer loyalty. The R&D Centre is an 11,000-sq. ft. facility. Along with increased presence in the country, MapR expects 100% growth in employees in a year’s time. The company will add laboratories, professional services and account teams as they continue to expand.
“Since we started our operations in India, we have grown significantly. The opening of the MapR new R&D Centre is a natural progression of the MapR strong customer and partner base and our plans to double by the end of 2016,” said John Schroeder, CEO & Co-Founder, MapR Technologies. “We are committed to building a lasting presence in the Indian market and to invest in long-term customer relationships.”
Helping to close the big data skills gap, MapR continues to grow its free Hadoop On-Demand Training programme with over 45,000 professionals currently enrolled worldwide. These courses provide the same level of depth and content as instructor-led training, with hands-on exercises, labs and quizzes that ensure an engaging and interactive experience for data professionals. MapR recently added its first free Apache Spark course, Apache Spark Essentials, as part of a new series.
The company recently announced the industry’s first and only converged data platform and introduced MapR Streams, a reliable, global event streaming system that connects data producers and data consumers across shared topics of information. The MapR Converged Data Platform integrates file, database, stream processing, and analytics to accelerate data-driven applications and address emerging IoT (Internet of Things) needs.
The integration of MapR Streams into a converged platform enables organizations in any industry to continuously collect, analyze and act on streaming data. From advertisers providing relevant real-time offers, to healthcare providers improving personalized treatment, to retailers optimizing inventory, to telecom carriers dynamically adjusting mobile service areas, organizations must improve their responsiveness to critical events with the continuous analysis of big data.
