Limited Edition Xiaomi 12T Pro is inspired by sculptural objects and comes with a contemporary art look

Xiaomi announced today that the Xiaomi 12T Pro is now available in a Daniel Arsham Edition. The phone is the result of a collaboration with a New York-based artist who designed it as “a sculpture with a purpose beyond it as a utilitarian device.”

The smartphone itself has a 200 MP camera, Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, 12/256 GB of storage, and a green back panel with copper-colored crystals that shine differently depending on the angle.

According to Daniel Arsham, those who own this phone in 20 years will utilise it as a sculpture, connecting it to a specific time and using it for purposes beyond its intended use. The back panel is the outcome of the concept artist’s experiments with different textures and “his sculptural arguments of obsolescence and natural erosions on a smartphone.”

According to Xiaomi, the partnership is based on the company’s basic values of innovation, design, and production and is geared “towards an imagined future of digital dematerialization.”

Only 2,000 of these special phones will be produced, and they will cost €899 each.

Pre-orders start on December 5, and the Xiaomi 12T Pro Daniel Arsham Edition will go on sale on mi.com and highsnobiety.com on December 16. During the launch, a pop-up store will also open for two days in Berlin.
