lg-lancetIf rumours are to be believed, South Korean tech giant LG is all set to make a comeback to Windows Phone. LG’s first Windows Phone 8.1 smartphone named ‘Lancet’ won’t be a high-end device but a mid-range device within the affordable price range.

The device is likely to come with an 11cm (4.5-inch) FWVGA TFT display with a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels. It relies on a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset coupled with 1GB RAM and 8GB onboard storage. Powered by 2,100mAh capacity battery, it is expected to sport an 8 megapixels rear camera.

Though other specifications are still under the wraps, sources have revealed that the handset would run on Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2 out of the box with no upgrade to Windows 10. Unfortunately, no information has been provided regarding the launch of the smartphone. However, the Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2 software says that the device would be launched before Windows 10 becomes available for smartphones.
