Lenovo Presents First Tablet With Next-Gen Atom CPU

The world’s largest computer maker Lenovo, has recently unveiled a lenovo-thinkpad-10new ThinkPad 10 using Intel’s new Cherry Trail Atom CPUs.  With an aim to woo business customers, ThinkPad 10 features either Atom X5-Z8500 chip or Atom X7-Z8700.

The tablet comes with a 26cm (10.1-inch) display with a resolution of 1920×1200 pixels. It comprises 2GB of LPDDR3/1600 RAM as well as the X5-8500, along with 64GB of eMMC storage. Protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3, the device is especially designed to be light, thin and scratch-resistant. Powered by the 14 nm Intel Cherry Trail, it consists of 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.0. Apparently, the firm is also expected to come with 3G or 4G LTE cellular support.

Along with Micro-HDMI 1.4 port, Micro-SD, a USB 3.0 port, the device would also come embedded with analogue audio. Backed by a 32Wh battery, the device is expected to give ten hours of battery life. Additionally, it sports ThinkPad Pen Pro technology with WRITEit, which is touted to be a Lenovo software add-on which enables the usage of pen for almost any input. With pre-installed Windows 10, the device is expected to be shipped in August 2015.
